Pelvic Sonogram

The day of the exam:

Empty your bladder 1 1/2 hours before the exam. Drink 32 oz. of any fluid in the next 30 minutes. Do not void!

During the exam:

A probe is placed on your skin or intravaginally which uses sound waves to take pictures of your internal organs. The examination usually only takes a few minutes.
