Abdominal Sonogram

The day of the exam:

Do not eat or drink 5 hours before the exam.

During the exam:

A warm gel will be placed on your skin and a probe is moved back and forth which uses sound waves to take pictures of your internal organs. The examination usually only takes a few minutes.
